Certified Special Event Professional Scholarships

The International Live Events Association (ILEA) offers the Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) training program. Established in 1993, the Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) designation recognizes event professionals who have successfully demonstrated the knowledge, skills and ability essential to perform all components of a special event.

This program was developed to:

  • Increase the proficiency of event professionals
  • Elevate industry standards and practices
  • Establish the level of knowledge and performance necessary for certification
  • Promote the advancement of the special events industry
  • Advance the careers of practitioners
  • Acknowledge the high caliber work of CSEPs and the value of the products and services they provide

The CSEP Scholarship is for $500.
This scholarship is for first time testing only—you cannot apply for retesting or recertification.
You must be at least 21 years old.

  • Copy of any information you are providing to ILEA

Application Schedule

Winter
Full applications are due by: February 15
Grant decision meetings are held in the month of: March
Notice of award or declination will be sent on or before: April 1

Spring
Full applications are due by: May 15
Grant decision meetings are held in the month of: June
Notice of award or declination will be sent on or before: July 1

Summer
Full applications are due by: August 15
Grant decision meetings are held in the month of: September
Notice of award or declination will be sent on or before: October1

Fall
Full applications are due by: November 15
Grant decision meetings are held in the month of: December
Notice of award or declination will be sent on or before: January 1

Blind reviews are used to determine scholarships. Your name is removed from your application, assigned a number, and graded by TSYLF's Board of Trustees. Each board member uses a 30 point rubric to grade your resume (4 points), letter of recommendation (4 points) your essay (20 points), and application completeness (2 points) for a total possible score of 90 points. Those with the highest scores will receive scholarship awards each quarter.

Grants

ILEA Las Vegas Membership Continuing Education Grant

This grant is awarded to candidates pursuing continuing education in the field of Special Events Management. The intention of this grant is for use towards classes and/or conferences relating to the events industry. Types of uses include, but are not limited to, the following: Event Management classes or conferences, Events and Entertainment Production seminars, Wedding Coordination & Planning classes or seminars, and Catering / Hospitality related classes, seminars or conferences. Use of grant funds towards conferences is acceptable provided there is an educational curriculum associated with the conference, and the Applicant presents proof of registration for that educational component.
